While there's so much to love about summer (the warm weather! longer days! cute sundresses!), there is one major downside of the season: frizzy hair.
According to Adriana Papaleo, a master hairstylist at Rob Peetoom Williamsburg Salon in Brooklyn, frizz happens for a number of reasons. "Anything from environmental factors to the texture of the hair itself, and styling techniques can contribute to the frizz factor," says the pro. "If you live in an exceptionally humid climate, you may find yourself more prone to frizz because it causes the cuticle to swell. Your texture may just be more open naturally, too, or you could be stressing the cuticle with excessive styling and not enough protection."
